We are delighted to offer Ambient Sound & Music Retreats located on the beautiful island of Mallorca. Stay in a countryside Finca where you will have your own Field Kit of innovative music equipment to play with during your stay.

Let us take you on Sound Walks in some of Mallorca’s stunning natural habitats where we’ll explore sound design and music practices such as active listening and the world of ecoacoustics.

We invite a Guest Facilitator to each retreat to support the daily workshops and Sound Walks, help guests get the most out of the Field Kits, join in with jams and deliver talks throughout the week on topics of their choice. Learn about their compositional approaches, musical heroes, performance tips or simply how they unwind by playing with sound.

Enjoy free time and space in the villa. Set up your Field Kit anywhere on the villa grounds and retreat into creative sound play surrounded by the lush orchards and beautiful blue skies of the Mediterranean.

All meals are taken care of. Enjoy delicious home-cooked Mallorcan dishes prepared on site with the best of local seasonal ingredients. After dinner we’ll have evening jam sessions, discussions and presentations from our Guest Facilitators.

Our retreats are open to all — from beginners curious about creating ambient music, to seasoned musicians / synth tweakers / sample choppers. We welcome everyone to enjoy the creative process in a beautiful location.

If you’re new to making music we can spend as much time with you as you need. Our sessions and workshops are designed to help get the most from your Field Kit and we welcome as much diversity of musical experience as possible. Read our blog to find out more about our ethos. If you love the Calm app, don’t have extensive musical experience, but would love to create your own ambient music, then this week is for you.

For more experienced musicians, in addition to your Field Kit, workshops and sound walks, you’ll have the opportunity to rent additional synthesisers, effects pedals and sound design toys from our Instrument Library to explore as well. And if you want to come out here to finish a project, we can help you with that too. Just let us know what you need and we’ll make it happen.

During the week you’ll get to know like-minded people, form a solid network, and get the most from our facilitators and their support. But mostly you’ll have fun playing with sound and music.

You can also enjoy plenty of leisure time while you’re here. Relax in a hammock, swim in the pool, head to the beach, take a siesta, enjoy the incredible Mallorcan cuisine, or simply get to know your fellow retreat guests over a glass (or more) of local wine. It’s your retreat and most importantly, it’s your holiday.
