Andrew “Hadj” Hadjiantoni

Hadj has been a lifelong lover of music, sound and music technology. After completing a Masters in Music Technology and Sound Design, he set up a recording studio in North Wales. From there he produced and taught music production and performance for cultural arts projects in partnership with the Princes Trust and EU-funded projects.

He spent many years DJing and promoting cutting edge music events spanning ambient chill out rooms, world music, funk and breakbeat playing alongside guests such as Mr. Scruff, Groove Armada, Krafty Kuts, Plump DJs and more.

Moving to Brighton in 2005, Hadj spent 15 years immersed in the demanding environment of the corporate world at Apple. While a corporate career provided incredible experiences he continued to produce music in various forms. Tapping into into the brilliant network of music creatives in Brighton, Hadj began co-running Brighton Modular Sessions. These sessions were designed to foster a new scene around the burgeoning modular synthesis movement, where the performance philosophy was designed to enable improvisation and community.

Through that community he partnered with Jason Hotchkiss of 64 Pixels to design PlayFader — an exciting new CV Performance Looper device. Stay tuned to our social channel for the launch in Autumn 2023.

Hadj has made yearly visits to Mallorca, reconnecting with friends by playing music together in the Mallorcan sunshine. The incredible restorative effect that these retreats had on himself and his peers led to his departure from the corporate world and the birth of Play All Day.

Hadj’s passion for music and sound, and bringing people together with good food and sunshine is infectious. And that’s what the Ambient Sound & Music Retreats in Mallorca are all about. Falling neatly under the guiding philosophy of Play All Day, these retreats and devices he’s designing are very close to his heart and he can’t wait to see people enjoying them soon.

You can listen to music he’s made here.

Jason Hotchkiss

PlayFader wouldn’t be happening if it wasn’t for Jason. He’s an incredibly smart and kind human who I feel so lucky to be able to to work with. I’m always inspired from our conversations together and constantly amazed by his passion and experience - Hadj

Jason loves inventing and making electronic music gizmos and has been selling products under the Sixty Four Pixels brand for over ten years.

Bringing together a love of making music and the experience of many years working as a software developer in Travel, Jason started working on his own MIDI hardware projects as a hobby and was eventually able to turn it into a full time job… living the dream!

Jason has designed and built a string of musical hardware devices including the CV.OCD MIDI to CV converter (licensed as Mutant Brain), the Noodlebox sequencer, Arpie MIDI arpeggiator and Le Strum control surface, along with loads of other fun gadgets and modules. All his products are hand assembled in a top secret underground lab in Brighton UK with the help of a small gang of friends.

Jason and Hadj have been working hard on PlayFader for a few years now, and it’s looking good so far. They can’t wait to show it to the world this Autumn. Stay tuned!
