Sound Walks

A Sound Walk is the perfect way to see and hear Mallorca.

Listen to the natural sounds of Mallorca’s protected habitats like Cala Mondrago, Son Real, Old Palma and other locations.

A typical itinerary for our sound walks…

  • Upon arriving at our starting point, we’ll walk for around an hour through natural habitats in silence, listening, sometimes recording.

  • Our destination will be a great place for further recording and listening, sometimes with specialist microphones.

  • Then we’ll walk back along the same route, but this time listening to the hidden sounds of nature, using specialist microphones and sensors placed along the path.

  • We’ll stop for lunch on our way back to the villa, where we can share our experiences over a lovely table of local food.

  • Once we’re home, there will be a wrap-up session to discuss and share our experiences, how things sound different at a microscopic level, share recordings and learn more about how Mallorca is protecting its natural habitats from development.

  • The next day we’ll show you how to use the recordings with your Field Kits and create wonderful soundscapes inspired by our Sound Walks.
