Sound Walks
A Sound Walk is the perfect way to see and hear Mallorca.
Listen to the natural sounds of Mallorca’s protected habitats like Cala Mondrago, Son Real, Old Palma and other locations.
A typical itinerary for our sound walks…
Upon arriving at our starting point, we’ll walk for around an hour through natural habitats in silence, listening, sometimes recording.
Our destination will be a great place for further recording and listening, sometimes with specialist microphones.
Then we’ll walk back along the same route, but this time listening to the hidden sounds of nature, using specialist microphones and sensors placed along the path.
We’ll stop for lunch on our way back to the villa, where we can share our experiences over a lovely table of local food.
Once we’re home, there will be a wrap-up session to discuss and share our experiences, how things sound different at a microscopic level, share recordings and learn more about how Mallorca is protecting its natural habitats from development.
The next day we’ll show you how to use the recordings with your Field Kits and create wonderful soundscapes inspired by our Sound Walks.
