Andrew “Hadj” Hadjiantoni

Hadj has been a lifelong lover of music, sound and music technology. After completing a Masters in Music Technology and Sound Design, he set up a recording studio in North Wales. From there he produced and taught music production and performance for cultural arts projects in partnership with the Princes Trust and EU-funded projects.

He spent many years DJing and promoting cutting edge music events spanning ambient chill out rooms, world music, funk and breakbeat playing alongside guests such as Mr. Scruff, Groove Armada, Krafty Kuts, Plump DJs and more.

A few years and a corporate career later, it was in Brighton that Hadj began Brighton Modular Sessions, a live improvised modular synth event. Through that community he partnered with Jason Hotchkiss of 64 Pixels to design PlayFader.

Raised in Cyprus he’s been focused on doing more to put his homeland on the map. Play All Day is based in Cyprus and PlayFader is proudly assembled by hand and shipped from there. Stay tuned for some promising new projects working across the troubled border lines with other synth engineers in Northern Cyprus.

You can listen to music he’s made here but it’s a bit of an old mess, much like him...

Jason Hotchkiss

PlayFader wouldn’t be happening if it wasn’t for Jason. He’s an incredibly smart and kind human who I feel so lucky to be able to to work with. I’m always inspired from our conversations together and constantly amazed by his passion and experience - Hadj

Jason loves inventing and making electronic music gizmos and has been selling products under the Sixty Four Pixels brand for over ten years.

Bringing together a love of making music and the experience of many years working as a software developer in Travel, Jason started working on his own MIDI hardware projects as a hobby and was eventually able to turn it into a full time job… living the dream!

Jason has designed and built a string of musical hardware devices including the CV.OCD MIDI to CV converter (licensed as Mutant Brain), the Noodlebox sequencer, Arpie MIDI arpeggiator and Le Strum control surface, along with loads of other fun gadgets and modules. All his products are hand assembled in a top secret underground lab in Brighton UK with the help of a small gang of friends.

Jason and Hadj have been working hard on PlayFader for a few years now, and it’s looking good so far. They can’t wait to show it to the world this Autumn. Stay tuned!
